VETTAM BEYOND THE CHASE
"Vettam"  is a 2004 Malayalam-language screwball comedy film directed by Priyadarshan. The film features Dileep as Gopalakrishnan, a petty thief, and Bhavna Pani as Veena, leading an ensemble cast that includes  kalabhavan mani  Innocent, Janardhanan,  Nedumudi Venu, Jagathy Sreekumar, and Cochin Haneefa.  Released on  20 August 2004 during the  Onam festival, "Vettam" faced initial box office challenges but later gained a cult following. The film was inspired by the 1995 movie  "French Kiss"  and was partly adapted into the 2009 Hindi film "De Dana Dan" by Priyadarshan . Gopalakrishnan,  known as Gopi, steals a valuable necklace from a museum, attracting police attention. While evading capture, he meets  Veena , who is on a mission to stop her lover, Felix, from marrying another woman.
